The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival began over 20 years ago as a tribute to Mr. Frank Brown who was the night watchman at the Flora-Bama Lounge for 28 years. The decommissioned USS Oriskany aircraft carrier was sunk on May 16, 2006 in 212 feet of water 24 miles off the coast of Pensacola, Florida. If you are an experienced diver you will want to check out the Oriskany's flight deck at about 130 feet and the hanger deck at about 150 feet below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico.

Baldwin County Heritage Museum
Baldwin County Heritage Museum on U.S. 98 east of Elberta is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. The museum focuses on the area's rural lifestyle and ethnic settlers. Displays include a working windmill and farm machinery. Phone 251-968-6375.
Baldwin Museum of Art
Baldwin Museum of Art at 111 West Laurel Avenue in Foley displays contemporary art that features Baldwin County. Also, an entire portfolio and lithography press that belonged to Doris Thompson of Magnolia Springs is on display. Call 251-970-1618 for museum hours.
Fort Morgan Historical Site and Museum at Mobile Point was one of the last Confederate forts to fall to Union forces and played a role in the war of 1812. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12. The site is open from 8 AM to 7 PM daily. Phone 251-540-7127 for more information.
Gulf Shores Museum
Gulf Shores Museum is on W. 19th Avenue. This museum contains exhibits about hurricanes, how they are formed and even how they are studied. The museum also contains exhibits and information on the unique and often colorful history of Gulf Shores. There is also a model shrimp boat on display. A gift shop is to the left of the main room and contains unique souvenirs of the museum and the area. Open from 10 AM to 12 Noon and 1 PM to 5PM Tuesday thru Friday and 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The Holmes Medical Museum
Located at 111 West Laurel Avenue in Foley, the Holmes Medical Museum preserves the history of the Sibley Holmes Memorial Hospital. Visitors can see an operating room, pharmacy and patient rooms along with medical instruments. Call 251-970-1618 for museum hours.
Indian and Sea Museum
The Indian and Sea Museum is located next to the Orange Beach City Hall off Highway 161. Before Orange Beach became the tourist destination it is today, the area was inhabited by Native Americans. The Museum features Indian and fishing artifacts from Orange Beach's past, including arrowheads and historical photographs that capture life for the earliest settlers. The National Museum of Naval Aviation
Located at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, the museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm daily. Admission is free but there is a charge for the IMAX theatre and a flight simulator. The 300,000 square foot hanger is filled with more than 150 restored aircraft. From World War II aircraft to modern day space exploration, this museum chronicles the history of aviation.
